About Derek St. Holmes

In 1974 Derek was hired by Ted Nugent as lead singer and rhythm guitarist. Nugent was looking for a lead singer to give his band the sound that would catapult him to stardom. In 1975, at only 22 years of age, St. Holmes found himself traveling the world and playing to sold out audiences in U.S. and European cities. He remained in Nugent's band until 1978.  St. Holmes, looking for an identity of his own, spent the next 18 years playing and recording on several different projects including albums with Brad Whitford of Aerosmith (Whitford - St. Holmes), former Nugent bass player Rob Grange, Montrose Ex-drummer Denny Carmassi (St. Paradise) and in 2010 recorded with American Idol's Randy Jackson and others on a tribute album to guitar legend Tommy Bolin.  In 1995 St Holmes and Nugent reunited for a tour and St. Holmes continues to tour with Nugent during the summer months.

"Derek was actually the lead vocalist on most of Nugent's biggest hits", said Bill Jones of Old City Weddings and Events who is producing the event for Artbreakers. "Derek is not only an amazing vocalist but one of the most talented and versatile guitarists of the classic rock era".  St. Holmes lead vocal credits include "Hey baby", "Just What the Doctor Ordered", "Stranglehold" and many others. Derek will perform many of the Nugent hits, blues and rock classics and a few original songs in his 90 minute show. To learn more about Derek St. Holmes please visit

  Lynn Rothemund Ride for Cancer
Date: September 30, 2012
Time: 9AM
Location: O.C. White's

Lynn Rothemund, who is in remission from Stage 4 cancer, will kick off a 1,000 mile bicycle ride on September 30th at OC Whites. Lynn is a remarkable lady who is as driven as she is kind. She will cover a large portion of Florida over 3 weeks raising money and awareness.

See Lynn's story and what's behind her motivation to ride below. Money raised will benefit both Artbreakers and Unity Outreach. Every bit counts, even a penny per mile will result in a $10 donation. Plus it would mean a lot to Lynn to know people support her and of course we will appreciate it too!

Howdy, My story.....Why I am doing this Ride!
In my genetic makeup is a gene that guides me to help others.  My "Volunteer" Gene!  The Act of helping and doing keeps me positive, happy and focused!  (And out of trouble ;) ] I have spent my entire life educating students and volunteering for good causes. Since My motto is: Keep Things Simple... I decided to do a Bicycle Ride around Florida to raise money for cancer.

My Mom died of cancer, my Grandma died of cancer and I have Stage 4   cancer. (And I have always been extremely healthy!)    I have seen first-hand the challenge of going through treatments!   That was the fun part for me...I had a good support group! I have also experienced the nightmare of dealing with insurance company semantics and payments due. I want to help make this experience easier for others. I did a ride like this in 2004 for Habitat for Humanity and raised   $17,000. - The event itself is fairly easy to organize....biking the 1000 miles is the challenge I can do it!   And that is my story!

I will be donating all funds collected to Artbreakers, Inc. and Unity Outreach.  Both are 501( c)3 organizations that provide monetary and emotional support for cancer patients in our community.

Haven Hospice Art Show
Date: October 19, 2012

Time: 5-7PM
Location: Haven Hospice,St. Augustine

Our dear friend, artist Linda Brandt, will be unveiling "7 Weeks....Tragedy to Triumph" on October 19 from 5-7pm at Haven Hospice. Linda will be speaking at 6pm. The series was initially sketched during the seven weeks that Linda laid in critical care after the removal of a very serious brain tumor. A student of Linda's had brought her a sketch book while in the hospital and told her that even though she wouldn't be able to sketch right then, she would someday. It took nearly 13 months for Ms. Brandt to learn to paint again, and nearly four years to complete this body of work. Never before unveiled to the public, "7 Weeks" takes the viewer through the week by week progression of a body's will to live...a sometimes scary and haunting depiction of the human soul.

Also being shown are some of Linda's floral and palm tree paintings which are enormously popular with her collectors all over the world. Don't miss this opportunity to see the unveiling. The event is free and open to the public. It will stir your soul and inspire you with hope!
